Choosing Deck Materials
As a seasoned deck builder in San Diego, we are experienced up to date with all the latest decking materials on the market. We are at the forefront of design and building decks. Most recently the most popular decking manufacturer is AZEK Timbertech Advanced PVC decking. Although it is the high-end grade of decking, there is a reason. PVC decking is much cooler to the touch in the hot sun, making it a clear choice to many homeowners. We are seeing many people steer away from traditional wood decks like redwood which require constant upkeep unless you want a faded wood look. Also redwood will rot out ove r a certain amount of time exposed to elements, water and sun. The PVC decking will not rot or soak up any water. It is waterproof which why it can not be damaged by water.
Deck Design
There are several different ways to build a deck. Starting with a good design and look is important. For a finished look we alway use a type of facia board and / or a "Picture Frame' style which frame the entire deck like a frame would go around the perimeter of a painting.
